Developers with a passion for data, consulting and emerging technologies

Being a developer in Deloitte Consulting means developing innovative solutions that leverage the latest technologies, including open-source tools, cognitive computing and cloud solutions.

What impact will you make?

Would you like to create an impact, while evolving in a dynamic and inclusive culture founded on cooperation, curiosity and high ambitions? If so, Deloitte is the place for you! We acknowledge and fulfil your potential and offer you a strong professional network, where you can unfold your interests and passions.

Your team

You will join Deloitte Consulting as a consultant in the department of Analytics and Information Management (AIM), where you will be working in a developer role together with leading data specialists in Denmark. In AIM, we work with all aspects of data for our clients, who have the ambition of becoming data-driven by utilising data as a digital asset. As data professionals, we engage in all types of projects within data management, and we have a broad insight into and experience in all professional disciplines involved.

Being part of AIM means being part of the most technologically advanced department in Deloitte, where projects require innovative thinking to create the most meaningful solutions and the largest impact for our clients. Our department consists of multiple specialised communities that work together to deliver true impact. But as a developer, you will also have the opportunity to become a leading technical specialist within a specific technology focus group such as:

  • Big data solutions
  • Robotics process automation (RPA)
  • Virtual assistants (chatbots)
  • Blockchain applications
  • Cloud-based analytics
  • Internet of Things (IoT)

Your assignments

In AIM, you work and specialise in the areas that you find the most exciting. You will have the opportunity to work with all levels of the different technology stacks: from back-end data processing technologies with SQL Server, Hadoop and Spark to front-end technologies like HTML5 and D3.js, delivering on-premise solutions or through leading cloud providers (Azure, Google and Amazon).

To succeed with projects at Deloitte requires that you are excellent in combining business thinking with a developer mindset. Additionally, it is imperative to be passionate about technology and constantly up to date with the latest developments, so that you can deve lop your technical expertise and implement high-quality solutions with scalability, manageability, and extensibility.

At Deloitte, we believe in leadership at all levels. Therefore, we have a culture that encourages you to take the lead at your specific development level, a mentoring programme and an open environment that encourages you to ask questions and learn every day. All consultants have a talent manager, who helps develop your talents and assists you in finding the right career path within our department. In addition, everybody in AIM is prepared to answer any questions you may have or point you in the right direction. We all pull together as a team to ensure we deliver the best results for our clients.

You will also have the opportunity to influence the daily life at Deloitte by assisting with internal projects, for example assisting managers with sales proposals, helping to recruit new talents or plan internal events. You can also spend any idle time on acquiring knowledge, building new skills or creating proof of concepts for clients.

Flexibility is, in many ways, a keyword in Deloitte. Our working hours are not completely set in stone, which allows you to influence when you work on different projects and assignments, provided they do not conflict. Travelling to clients and working at their offices within the Copenhagen area is normal, and international projects are within your reach, if you are interested.

Your qualifications

You love data. Our work revolves around utilising data to bring value to clients, and you have to be passionate about this to succeed. A graduate degree within or related to IT, engineering or any hard sciences is expected. However, a sincere interest in data engineering and data management is vital.

Consequently, a proven foundation within databases (SQL/NoSQL), design patterns and architectural patterns is expected. Additionally, practical hands-on experience with languages such as Java, Scala or C# and scripting languages is required; however, generally we have no specific language preferences as long as you feel comfortable with your stack.

It is an advantage - but not a requirement - if you have experience with source control and versioning (for example TFS/GIT), containerisation platforms (for example Docker/Kubernetes), microservices (for example Web/REST API) and continuous delivery (configuration, deployment and testing) using agile frameworks. Knowledge of designing and building modern user interfaces (for example React/HTML5/CSS/JavaScript/Node.js) is also an advantage. Finally, it is preferable if you already have a solid knowledge base in the area you later choose to specialise in (for example blockchain, RPA or IoT).

Impact that matters

We all aspire to fulfil our purpose – to make an impact that matters. Every single day. We measure our success in the quality, creativity, integrity and innovative in our solutions. Only the best is good enough. We do not just aspire to make solutions. We wish to create an impact that makes a positive and crucial difference for our clients, our society, and the people around us all.
